Looking for more adventure than just a walk around the upper circle of the park? Thompson Park has many hiking trails for the more adventurous person. Gather up your friends and plan a day for a hike. You’ll see beautiful wooded scenery and rock formations along the way.
Most people who are familiar with Thompson Park are not aware of the lovely trails that take you through and around the boundaries of the 100 acre woods. The trails are moderately challenging with some steep hills. During your hike you may discover and experience the running stream water, boulders, wildflowers, large trees, squirrels, turkey, deer, and birds, as well as the baskets for the back nine of the 18 hole disc golf course and a bridge which was built in 2005 by Adam Murphy for his Eagle Scout Troop #41 project.
Wherever you hike, you are never far from the park or the surrounding neighbors. Presently, the trails are not marked, but can be recognized by the widely cleared pathways.
