Relay For Life
On May 1st the Tri State Federal Credit Union and the Members of FOP29 hosted a Disc Golf Tournament at Thompson Park to benefit the Relay for Life. 12 players from as far as Pittsburgh Pa and Salem Ohio competed for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophys. Participants raised $350.00 for the cause and all had a great time, good food and prizes were won. Winners were : 1st place Stan Mackall, 2nd place Chad Ringo and Third place Jonathan Stokes.
A special thanks to all those folks and buisnesses who contributed to the event. This was the first of hopefully an annual event to raise money and awareness to the fight against cancer. Kelsey Hedrick the disc golf coordinator at the park is a cancer survivor and was excited about getting the opportunity to play in this event.

Attention
As you may or may not know the Thompson Park Disc Golf course has been a huge success for the Park, bringing a lot of people young and old to visit the beautiful sights and of course to play Disc Golf ! School and Church Organizations are even using the Disc Golf course for their activities. Recently the Park board has graciously granted us permission to continue building the course into a 27 Hole course and one of the best in the State of Ohio.
We were able to raise the money before by asking local business owners and organizations to donate a sum of money and their business name or Family name was then engraved into the wooden tee posts. Hundreds of people have played Disc Golf at the Park and see these names on the posts, we of course encourage all to support those businesses and people in turn. We have had people come here to play from as far away as Germany! One fella was here for a funeral and stayed an extra couple of days just play in a tournament we were having, he was from Lake Tahoe Nevada! Recently I stopped by the bulletin board and found a business card there from a man who was visiting and he was from Jacksonville Florida, the stories go on. “If we build it, they will come!”
What we are asking is for any size donation but if you would like a spot on one of the post the minimum we will need donated is $200.00. This is how we did it before and will continue to do so. When there is enough to purchase the baskets and tee posts then we will start adding them to the course. (The sooner the better!!) Each basket costs $350.00 plus tax and shipping, then the Tee post are approximately $12.00 to $15.00 each, then there is a cost for the sign printing , the engraving is done by me so that’s free!
Thank you in advance for your contribution and if you can not help today we understand that also and appreciate your morale support!!
